Women in the project areas face significant vulnerability due to limited access to fertile land and financial resources for certified farm inputs. To address this gap and promote women's empowerment, the project supported the creation of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs).
These associations provide simple savings and loan facilities to communities without access to formal financial services, helping beneficiaries build capital for their farming and business enterprises.
In partnership with local NGO Water and Sanitation for Development (WASADEV), the project established, trained, and equipped 166 new groups comprising 4,662 members (3,215 female). Additionally, 149 existing groups with 4,352 members (3,514 female) from the former SLMWP received refresher training and equipment.

By strengthening financial empowerment, the VSLA initiative has improved lives and fostered greater financial independence. Notably, 72 groups recently completed a share-out totaling GHS 2,171,057.00.
