Cattle and livestock rearing are key livelihood activities for many households in the project landscape. Community members typically shepherd their animals over long distances in search of fodder and water, as well as to prevent crop destruction on local farms.
To support these communities, the project assisted in establishing a 30-hectare fenced rangeland in Kayera, Amankwa Tornu, and Memchemfre (in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District) and Twifourfaaso (in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District). These rangelands include provisions for livestock watering and have been enriched with Stylosanthes to enhance nutritional value.

This intervention has successfully reduced the incidence of crop raiding by livestock and cattle rustling with the beneficiary communities during the dry season in these areas.
